I have had a long love affair with jeans, and have tried many pairs from all different high street brands from Primark and Newlook to River Island and Vero Moda. No affordable jeans brand is more hyped than Topshop, but at £40-£50 per pair these jeans only just cusp the edge of the affordable price bracket, and so I was very hesitant to hand over my cash for these jeans. I mean, how much better could they be than my Primark jeans that cost a quarter of the price?

The fit in particular that I have gotten along with so well are the Jamie Jeans and think they are the perfect skinny jean fit. The jeans are high waisted but not as extreme as the Joni jeans making them comfortable and excellent for gals like me who suffer from an extremely long torso (which is no where near as flattering as having long legs), and they also have an ankle grazer design making them perfect in the summer with trainers to flash some lower leg but also pair excellently with ankle boots in the colder seasons. These jeans are tight but do definitely stretch out once worn and washed a few times and so I strongly recommend sizing down in the waist (I would definitely buy a 28W if I were to purchase again).

The shade of these jeans is another reason why I (albeit reluctantly) purchased them. The blue wash is not your standard jean blue but more of a yellow toned colour (this sounds strange but just go with me!). This makes the colour slightly more turquoise rather than a true blue and I found this much more flattering and also easier to match with other items in my wardrobe. I also wanted to mention the wear time of these jeans - the hype for Topshop jeans is so high you often don't hear a bad word said against them, however the one problem I have heard is that the colour fades within the first six months and have to be re-dyed at home. However, I have to say I have yet to encounter this problem after wearing them for more than three months. This makes my final verdict extremely positive for these jeans and I definitely look forward to purchasing another pair, Topshop, you've done it again.
