They say that scents can recall memories from of previous times it was worn such as your wedding day or first date, and as Jo Malone Earl Grey and Cucumber Cologne was gifted to me by my parents for my fifteenth birthday I cannot help but feel cozy and warm at the memory of my friends and family celebrating and eating lemon drizzle cake. This scent to me is a perfect everyday fragrance due to its light and fresh scent. I will not lie and pretend as if I am a professional perfumer, however I did look up the notes in order to best explain the unusual scent to you. It has sweet base notes of beeswax, vanilla and musk, and lighter notes of bergamot, cucumber and, of course, Earl Grey tea. Anyone who knows me knows that I am obsessed with tea, particularly Earl Grey, and so this scent felt oddly familiar even when I smelt it for the first time. It is important to remember that scents absorb into the skin differently on each wearer, but on my skin I find the sweeter base note to be more suble while the fresher scents from the cucumber are more poignant. When I originally read cucumber as a note I will admit I was definitely

Because it is a cologne it is quite strong so you don't have to use a lot of it at one time, and it also means that it lasts well on the skin. I received a 30ml bottle which is perfect for me - I never finish my perfumes if they are larger than this as I am so crap at remembering to put it on in the morning. Buying a small sized perfume ensures I will get the wear out of the product without having to chuck the remainder in the bin (perfumes go out of date after about eighteen months to two years and can start to smell a bit funky) As a little added bonus, I love the packaging for both the 30ml and 100ml Jo Malone colognes as I think they look very classic and are a great edition to any vanity (or blog photo!).

This perfume, like all Jo Malone fragrances, is of a more luxury price tag at £39 for 30ml, and £78 for 100ml. In my opinion, however, I think that they are worth it as they smell beautiful and are such a high quality.
