I apologise for no Sunday or Thursday post last week but I've just come back to school and things have been super busy! However, this week is my last as hopefully I'll be able to return to my regular posting schedule.

I thought I would talk you through my favourite items from my wardrobe for spring/summer 2016. As I am leaving for university in a few months I have been doing some major reorganising and clearing out of my wardrobe. This has left me with only what I really love and shows me where the gaps are that I can hopefully fill before my departure in September.

The colour palette for this season seems to be mustard yellow, blush pink and mid-wash denim, and while I am yet to pick up many pink items, I have been loving the mustard and denim hues. My Missguided faux suede mustard jacket has been a wardrobe staple since I purchased it in September, but I feel like as the weather improves I will be able to get full use of it. I also picked up a ribbed high neck top from H&M recently that I love for wearing under jumpsuits and dungarees for a pop of colour, and also looks amazing with an all-black or all-white look.

I won't go on again for too long about my love for all things denim. By now you've heard me rave about my farleigh ripped mom jeans and my cut-out jumpsuit both from Asos that I love so much I often have to remind myself that I have other clothes just to change things up. For spring/summer I want to experiment more with my button up denim skirt from Topshop that I bought last summer completely on the hype that I ended up barely wearing as I struggled to style it without looking really young, but this year I'm hoping to try it out more and get some more wear from it. Currently, my thoughts are pairing it with a ringer slogan tee, like this one from Urban Outfitters, and all-white trainers.

Grey marl is a staple for me in my wardrobe all year round and I always have to have a few pieces on my rail regardless of the season as I love it for pairing with more unusual items such as my statement jackets. My favourites are this slouchy jumper dress from Asos that I try to wear to everything, and this ribbed body with the lace up detailing on the neckline from H&M.

An unconventional spring trend this year seen in the collections of Saint Laurent, Fendi and Rag & Bone is biker leather. This is a welcomed change from the standard 'florals for spring' that I'm sure everyone is exhausted of, so I have kept my leather trousers and biker jacket from last season in an attempt to incorporate them. I have also recently purchased the most amazing faux leather bermuda shorts from Zara that I've already worn a few times and am in love with. The bermuda cut makes them comfy and casual but the leather makes them more (and I cringe at the use of this word) ...edgy. I also love the paper bag waist as I think it's very flattering and means the shorts will fit perfectly.

As I mentioned in my SS16 streetstyle trends post, for the past few months I have been opting for cream over white, something very unusual for me. As a lover of cool-toned colours and lots of grey I have always been one for white, but I have found something very appealing in the softer effect cream gives. The stand-out cream item on my rail is my pair of cream culottes from Zara that I managed to grab for only £5 in the sale back in March. They are the perfect balance of structured and slouchy making them an incredibly versatile piece, and the minimal cut of these trousers makes statement colour block more wearable.

And that is everything I excited to be wearing this spring (whenever this train and snow stops!), however there are quite a few bits I am going to pick up to expand my spring/summer wardrobe, and there will be a post up in the next few weeks of my current fashion wishlist showing you what I am crushing over.
