My sister shot some outfit pictures of me in Aberdeen a few months back (hence the long locks) to help with a university art project. I love this look as I think classic monochrome pieces in unusual textures or cuts are amazing all year round and so make excellent transitional pieces. I used this plain black polo neck from Newlook as a base for this outfit as it's a great layering item and good for staying warm in the windy weather. My culottes are from Zara and I nabbed them in the sale for a fiver back in March. I love them as they are a year-round item to me - this look is very wrapped up, but I could also see myself with a cute bardot crop top and some sandals on holiday in these trousers as the fabric is lightweight and the colour so versatile. To stay warm I added my Topshop faux fur jacket on top, and I love the monochrome colours and boxy fit of this jacket. On my feet I have an old pair of faux leather cream trainers from H&M, and an ancient Primark Mens beanie that wasn't even meant to be seen in these photos, but it became too cold not to keep it on. Finally, on my lips is my trustee MAC Velvet Teddy (no surprises there then!). I love how the simple colours keep it looking timeless and classic, but the unusual shapes of the cropped culottes and the boxy jacket, mixed with the different textures of the fabrics, make this outfit more fashionable and interesting.
